Handmade Vegan Candles, Crafted in England

Ralph's Orchard is a small independent candle and home fragrance brand based in South London. Every candle is hand-poured in England in small batches, using a blend of soy wax, coconut wax and rapeseed wax, and fragranced with phthalate-free, vegan-approved scents.

We started the brand with a clear purpose: to make candles that are genuinely better. Better for indoor air quality, better for the environment, and made without compromise on fragrance.

What Goes Into Our Candles

Many candles on the market are made from paraffin, a petroleum by-product. Ours are not.

Our wax blend is entirely plant-based and biodegradable. Each ingredient earns its place:

Rapeseed wax is grown in the UK and EU, which keeps our supply chain short and our carbon footprint lower than most. It is our primary wax and the backbone of the blend.

Soy wax is biodegradable and burns cleanly, producing far fewer soot particles than paraffin. Its lower melting point means a slower, longer burn.

Coconut wax has the cleanest burn of the three and holds fragrance exceptionally well, which is why our scent throw is consistently strong.

Our wicks are made from organic cotton: lead-free, zinc-free and non-toxic.

All fragrances are phthalate-free. Where a candle uses pure essential oils, this is noted in the product description. Essential oil candles carry a more delicate, natural scent. Fragrance oil candles are more intense and throw scent even when unlit.

Vegan and Cruelty-Free

Every product made by Ralph's Orchard is vegan and cruelty-free. We use no beeswax, no stearic acid and no animal-derived ingredients. Our fragrances are not tested on animals.

What We Do for the Planet

With every order we plant a tree and remove three plastic bottles from the ocean through our environmental partners. Our packaging is plastic-free and recyclable.

Our Found and Refilled range uses vintage and salvaged vessels as candle holders, keeping beautiful objects out of landfill and giving them a second life. Browse the repurposed candles collection.

Made in Small Batches

Small-batch production means every candle is checked individually, fragrance loads stay consistent, and nothing sits in a warehouse for months. What you receive is fresh, properly poured and made with attention.

How It Started

Ralph's Orchard began at home in South London. The name comes from my youngest son, whose respiratory sensitivities led me to look more carefully at what we were burning indoors. That search led to cleaner wax, better ingredients and eventually a brand built around the idea that a candle should be as good for the home as it is beautiful in it.
