1. We Give Back
Ralph's Orchard was started with the mission of being the most sustainable candle company out there. We use recycled/recyclable materials for our packaging, and our products are made with natural, plant-based ingredients. Plus, we offset our carbon footprint by planting trees.
Our commitment to the environment in part because the company was founded as a result of my son's respiratory issues, caused in part by air pollution. Many factors contribute to air pollution, both inside our homes and in our communities. In our homes paraffin-wax candles emit a toxic soot.
2. The Importance of Sustainability
As a business, it’s important to recognize the importance of sustainability. Sustainability means much more than just doing your part to help the environment. Making sustainable choices for our business also means being mindful of how our decisions affect everyone — from our customers to our suppliers.
It’s important to think about the long-term effects of our decisions, both within our own organization and the larger community. Sustainability is about creating a product, a brand, and an industry that loves people and the planet just as much as the end product.
We also look to source our materials as locally as possible (transport caused emissions), or from sustainable sources. For example, while our soy wax is made in the USA, it is produced using the discarded soy husks from animal feed, making it zero-waste, and the soy is not produced for the purpose of making wax. We also use UK/EU-grown rapeseed wax, which naturally occurs in our part of the world.
3. How We Give Back
Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop at minimising our environmental costs and using recycled materials for packaging. We are also committed to giving back to our local and global community.
We are passionate about using our business to make a difference and benefit people’s lives. With each purchase you make, Ralph's Orchard plants a tree in partnership with Ecologi (during Earth month we increase this to 3 trees per order!). We also regularly make contributions to offset our carbon emissions.
Ecologi is an organisation that helps transform the lives of individuals in developing countries through agroforestry and other sustainability projects to plant trees and offset carbon.
We also donates a portion of every purchase you make to Ecologi to help them continue their work. By planting trees, we are helping to prevent soil erosion and enriching the soil with various nutrients that can help communities become more self-sufficient.
We are devoted to making sure their business has a positive impact and strives to contribute to a sustainable future.

We source all of our ingredients responsibly. All products are free of harsh chemicals and preservatives, and we never test on animals.
Our "Repurposed" range upcycles pre-loved items into beautiful and unique candle creations.
